The magazine, part of the São Paulo editorial group, features Ronaldo and his wife Georgina on its latest cover and recounts a turbulent moment for Ronaldo the night before the final.
The Portuguese man had prayed before the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, hoping for a special blessing: that Argentina, led by arch-rival Messi, would lose to Germany. His wish came true when Götze scored the winning goal in the 8th minute of the second half of extra time.
Back in May of last year, the shooter said, "I go to church every week, and I always thank God for everything He has given me. I don't ask anything of Him, I just thank Him for protecting my family and friends. I am Catholic, so I always try to thank Him for everything I have."
