According to The Sun, England manager Thomas Tuchel suffered a blow before the international break when John Stones was forced to leave the field injured.
The 32-year-old former Manchester City defender suffered a thigh injury in the second half of Inter Milan's 5-3 victory over Udinese.
This was Stones' first start for his new club. The injury was a significant blow to the Italian giants and gave Tuchel a major headache before the upcoming international break.
England will face Spain, the Czech Republic, and Croatia in the extended international break in September and October for the UEFA Nations League. With Stones confirmed to be unavailable, Tuchel's defensive options will be affected.
His current options for defenders include Gueye, Konsa, Colwell, Cua Anza, and Trevor Chalobah. Tuchel might even recall Manchester United star Maguire, despite Maguire being left out of his World Cup squad.
